Often garage door maintenance is completely neglected. Oiling the wooden panels every few years, is good, but not enough. Extra care and maintenance of the operating mechanism should also be given.

DO NOT VANISH YOUR DOOR

NEVER PUT GREASE IN THE TRACKS OR ON THE ROLLERS



Do's:

  • It is essential to treat the doors within 6 weeks of installation with 2 to 3 coats of a good quality TIMBER OIL
  • First clean your garage door with a cloth to remove all dust. Then apply the oil with a paint brush.
  • If your garage door is north, or west, facing, the meranti door should be oiled at least every 6 - 12 months.
  • If the garage door is south facing, it should be oiled at least every 12 months.
  • Keep all the moving parts of your sectional overhead door cklean and dust free.
  • Use only a 40watt globe in your garage door opener
  • Adjust and align rails to ensure snag-free operation
  • Tighten all bolts and screws regularly
  • Repair any breakages, or contact us to repair it, as soon as it occurs. This will prevent possible further damage to your door



SAFETY PRECAUTIONS


A garage door and its components can be very dangerous and can cause severe injury.


  • Operate a door only when clear of obstructions and when properly adjusted.

  • When operatig with electric operator, ensure that the side lock spring latches are NOT latched into tracks's catch keeps.

  • Operate the door only when it is within your range of sight.

  • Do not tsore or place items where they may interfere with the operation of the door.

  • Do not stand under the door while in operation.

  • Do not permit children to play with, or near, the door or the remote controls.

  • Do not put fingers between door sections. Use only the lifting handles to manually open or lower the door.

  • The door is under extreme spring tension and repairs or adjustments to the cables, or any part of the spring counter-balance mechanism should only be carried out by qualified service personnel.
